JON KAIMAN DEMOCRAT FOR TOWN SUPERVISORSustainability
Since I began serving as the Town of North Hempstead Supervisor, I have executed ambitious plans for a community-based vision for a more sustainable future.
I have established goals and strategies to pursue the standards of sustainability: economic prosperity, social responsibility, and environmental health and well-being.
The lasting effects of extreme climate are now evident across Long Island, heightening the awareness of the need to reduce carbon emissions for regional sustainability-based planning. Under my administration, I will build on the groundwork that we laid and implement these plans using grant funding that my administration has aggressively and successfully obtained to finance these projects that will significantly improve the economic and environmental well-being of the Town of North Hempstead.

Plan in Formation
This plan is in formation. It is my intention to pursue an ongoing discussion on how North Hempstead can reduce its carbon footprint while creating a strategic plan and municipal template on climate action. (Special thanks to Transition Town Port Washington for input and guidance.)
