Democrat Jon Kaiman received significant support from a major trade union as he seeks election to return as Supervisor of the Town of North Hempstead. International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1049, which represents some 4,000 electrical and gas workers across Long Island and parts of Queens dedicated to providing safe and reliable electric and gas service today (Monday, October 23, 2023) voted to officially endorse Democrat Jon Kaiman.
IBEW 1049 Business Manager Pat Guidice called Democrat Jon Kaiman “a strong advocate for labor rights, fair wages, comprehensive benefits, and the interests of working families.” The IBEW1049 support of Democrat Jon Kaiman follows Newsday’s major endorsement: “There is little doubt that Kaiman can jump-start the town to address its challenges, especially with his skills to engage state and federal partners.” Great Neck News columnist Karen Rubin also touted Democrat Kaiman’s “track record of bold accomplishments, and that when he says he sees his purpose in government in terms of making our lives, our communities, our neighborhoods better, these are not empty words,” in a column also shared with the Island 360 subscribers.
